BIOGRAPHY
Born in 1988, Rama was born and grew up in a minority family with a mixed identity of Manadonese/Minahasa and Sundanese ethnicities in the city of Bandung, Indonesia. He earning a bachelor's degree from the National Institute of Technology in 2013 (Bandung, ID) in cross-disciplinary studies of musical instrument design and ethnography. He then became active in local independent music scene, comissioning scluptural works from artists, and studied composition and sound art in self-taught also through a series of workshops with experts. In 2018 he decide to become fulltime artist and producer, who deals with speculative syncretic identity in decolonizing ideas, an artistic thought in tribal or mysticism-inspired music, and synthetic electronic sounds.
Until now he has spent residencies, exhibitions, performances, and audio-related work, cooperating with Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and Taiwan Ministry of Culture. Organizations: Goethe-Institut Bandung, Sacred Bridge Foundation, Skövde Art Museum (SE), OCAC Open Contemporary Art Center (TW), Extended Asia, Make It Up Club (AUS).
